Battle of the Birch Tree is a German-language booklet written by Hugo Wolfgang Philipp in 1931.

This booklet contains a number of short poetry verses related to the legend of the battle of Birkenbaum and local history. This battle was said to have occurred on the fields of the Lusebrink in the early 1300s.

According to local history, the Monastery of Benninghausen obtained ownership of the lands in this region as a result of this battle. It is described as “the world renown battle” and the “last battle of the people against the Slavs of the East”.

I believe the booklet is out of print, but I have seen copies for sale on Booklooker. Purchasing requires an EU billing and shipping address.
