Carl Rudy is Henry’s Henry Ferdinand was Henry and Elizabeth’s ninth child and fifth/youngest son.

1910 US Census: Carl doesn’t appear which is odd since he would be 3 months old.

1920 US Census: I have yet to find this record.

1930 US Census: Carl [19] is living with his parents with “none” listed as occupation.

1940 US Census: Carl [29] and his first wife Hallie [25] are living in Cheyenne, Wyoming with their sons, Garland E. and Robert D. Carl is a truck driver for a creamery and Hallie is presumably a housewife.

1950 US Census: Carl [39] and his second wife Marie Madelyn [36] are living in Wyoming with their children, Mary L. and David Carl Bales. Carl is a bus driver and Marie is a beautician. David dies at age 13 or 14.

Marie dies in 1989 aged 75 and is buried in Colorado. Carl dies in 1997 aged 86 in Arizona.

What I find the most interesting is the change of the last name. It appears that it was changed from Bals to Bales at some point between the 1940 US Census and the second marriage.
