1150 Jahre Schmerlecke 883-1983

1150 Jahre Schmerlecke is a German-language book published in 1983 by the Schmerlecke local historical society to celebrate the 1150th anniversary of the village.

This book is out of print. The Erwitte local historical society has a hard cover version which can be viewed during hours of operation, but it cannot leave the premises. I was able to flip through a paperback version at the Bals-Lusebrink during my visit in May 2025.

I do possess a PDF version, which I managed to translate into english by running it through Google Translate one paragraph at a time. While I’m happy to share information with fellow researchers, it is protected by copyright so online posting and/or distribution isn’t an option.
