1150 Jahre Schmerlecke 883-1983

1150 Jahre Schmerlecke is a German-language book published in 1983 by the Schmerlecke local historical society to celebrate the 1150th anniversary of the village.

This book is out of print. The Erwitte local historical society has a hard cover version which can be viewed during hours of operation, but it cannot leave the premises. I was able to flip through Andreas’ paperback version at the Bals-Lusebrink during my visit in May 2025.

Thanks to the Archivist for the City of Erwitte, I do possess a searchable PDF version, which I managed to translate into english. While I’m happy to share information with fellow researchers, I was asked by the Erwitte Archivist not to publish/post the entire book online.
